Advanced Open Water Diver
The Advanced program provides you with a structured means to explore special diving interests and gain dive experience. You can customize your training path and learn various underwater tasks that broaden your awareness of the environment and your capabilities as a diver.
Our diving program is based on the premise that diving is a means to explore other interests. Once comfortable with basic skills, you may want to explore new tasks, see different creatures and journey into diverse environments.
Advanced Open Water is all about the diving, there are knowledge reviews to fill out per dive but no classroom time, just briefings and a Q&A session at the dive site. The course comprises of a deep dive, a navigation dive and then 3 other dives chosen by you from the list below.
Each dive may be counted as the first dive of the related Speciality course. Similarly Dive 1 of a Speciality course may be counted towards your Advanced Open Water course requirements.
This course is also an essential step in our Master Scuba Diver programme, ask one of our instructors about the 'Black Belt of Scuba'

Must have Open Water
Certification
Minimum age: 12 (The certification is classified as
Junior Advanced Open Water until 15 with a max. depth of
21m)
You need to be in reasonable health and be able to answer 'no' to all the medical questions listed in the 'Course Booking Form' downloadable to the right. If you answer 'yes' to any question then the 'GPs Statement' (downloadable to the right) will have to be signed by your doctor prior to the course's commencement.

Signed Liabilities
It is recommended that you should have at least your own
mask, fins, snorkel and booties at this level of
training to ensure correct fit and comfort during these
more advanced dives, an Surface Marker Buoy and reel is
required equipment. Please talk to your instructor or a
member of DiverCity staff for advise
What's Next?
Now that you've had a taste of different types of diving on offer you may wish to focus in on one of our Speciality Courses; or if you want the ultimate in skills and confidence building try Rescue Diver, your next step on the PADI ladder. But if you've been seriously bitten by the bug then maybe you would like to join our Master Scuba Diver Programme, the black belt of SCUBA.
Course Costs and Dates
The cost of the Advanced Open Water Diver is £225 and held over the weekends below. At the time of booking you can decide which advanced dives you wish to do.
