Rob's CV (Written by Rob so... pinch of salt)
Rob
started diving almost twenty years ago 20 years ago when
living and working in Spain. He firstly received
instruction within the CMAS system becoming a CMAS
Instructor. Rob later became a PADI Instructor and BSAC
Instructor. He became a PADI Course Director in 1999,
and subsequently has become one of the busiest and
experienced PADI Course Directors working with many dive
centres in the UK and overseas, Rob runs on average
between 12-18 PADI OWSI programs per year , plus all the
other array of courses Rob is involved in teaching.
Rob ran his own successful Dive school in the Midlands for several years, working in con-junction with various health clubs in the Midlands and offering quality training programs to there members. Due to his own success as a Course Director Rob decided to move away from the Dive School to focus on offering quality instructor training programs. This gives Rob a very good incite into the UK dive industry and being self-employed which adds interest and experience to the IDC program.
He has also been used as an expert witness by the HSE in their investigations, giving invaluable knowledge and resource to Legal Responsibility and risk Management segments of his programs.
Rob was also involved with DAN UK for several years as their UK Training Coordinator he gained the qualification of Instructor Trainer Examiner and was involved in the design and launch of many of DANs' programs. Along with being involved in training most of the UKs Instructor Trainers in these areas.
He also has an extensive First Aid Background, having originally been a Medic First Aid Instructor, Rob became an EMP commercial First Aid Instructor in First Aid at Work, Care Initiator, Paediatric First Aid, and sub-sequently became an Instructor with EMP in these areas. Now with the successful launch of EFR Rob is happy to be involved with the EFR family of programs as an EFR Instructor Trainer.
Rob also works on a contract basis for a midlands college training trainers, being involved in course design and teaching on Modern Apprenticeship Programs.
He has extensive diving experience, having experienced many different diving conditions from Russia to Australia, Rob has over 5000 logged dives and a wealth of divers tales to tell!!
Nowadays if he gets chance to go diving for pleasure Rob enjoys leisurely dives enjoying the aquatic realm and remembering why it all began for him in the first place.
