Underwater Naturalist
If you're
interested in aquatic life then the PADI Underwater
Naturalist Specialty course is for you. This course is
an introduction to the underwater aquatic environment
and will help develop safe and responsible aquatic life
interaction techniques.
During your course you'll learn underwater naturalist dive planning, organisation, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also get an overview of the major aquatic life groupings, interactions and factual information that dispels negative myths.
The PADI U/W Naturalist Diver certification counts toward your Master Scuba Diver rating and is run over 2 open water dives with your instructor.

Course Pre-requisites
Must be a PADI Open Water Diver
You need to be in
reasonable health and be able to answer 'no' to all the
medical questions listed in the 'Course Booking Form' downloadable
to the right. If you answer 'yes'
to any question then the 'GPs Statement' (downloadable
to the right) will have to be signed by your doctor prior to
the course's commencement.

What's Next?
Once you've become a U/W Naturalist Diver you may wish to take part in the Advanced Open Water course to show you other forms of diving, maybe Photography if you like nature. If a certain form of diving, such as Underwater Navigation or Night diving, is of interest then maybe focus in on one of our other Speciality Courses, but if you've been seriously bitten by the bug then maybe you would like to join our Master Scuba Diver Programme, the black belt of SCUBA. Course Costs and Dates
The cost of the U/W Naturalist speciality is £100 and is held over one day of the open water weekends below or spread over two days if preferred.
